So, what is Prolotherapy/ Prolozone Therapy?
A Safe and Trusted Approach to Chronic Back, Neck, Joint and Soft Tissue Injury
What is Prolozone Therapy? It is an advanced form of prolotherapy in the UK which has built a reputation for achieving results when all other treatments have failed. Studies have proven that it can relieve pain, repair, strengthen and regenerate the following structures: joints, cartilage, spinal discs, muscles, ligaments, tendons, meniscus, and bursa.
The treatment was named ‘Prolozone Therapy’ because it involves the injection of medical ozone and nutrients to proliferate cells in a weak or damaged region of the body. To proliferate cells means to multiply and increase the number of them.
What Is the Difference Between Prolotherapy and Prolozone?
Prolotherapy
Standard Prolotherapy injections use an irritant in the form of sugar (dextrose solution) to cause an inflammatory response. This inflammatory response helps to stimulate healing.
We offer standard Prolotherapy for individuals who prefer but but have introduced Prolozone, a newer treatment technology that has some advantages over prolotherapy.
Prolozone Therapy: An Advanced Form of Prolotherapy
Prolozone Therapy is a more recent technology that uses a regenerative form of oxygen to stimulate repair and regeneration.
It is faster acting and spreads further around the injection site having a positive impact on the surrounding tissue impacted by the injury.
Prolozone tends to require a shorter course of treatment, making it much less expensive for the patient. It also uses smaller needles, making more a more comfortable procedure.

- Lift your children again.

Is Prolotherapy/Prolozone Right for You?
You should consider Prolotherapy/Prolozone if:
- You have ongoing chronic neck pain, back pain or sciatica.
- You have been diagnosed with a slipped, prolapsed or herniated disc that is stopping you from living your life.
- You are losing your battle with chronic headaches or migraines.
- You have been diagnosed with knee or hip arthritis or a meniscal tear?
- You are struggling with an ongoing tendon or ligament injury or bursitis.
- You are experiencing shoulder, elbow, wrist or sacroiliac joint (SI joint) pain or pelvic instability.
- You are keen to get to the root cause of the problem and avoid invasive surgery.
- You are tired of the merry-go-round of NHS appointments, painkillers and waiting times.

Is Prolotherapy or Prolozone Therapy Painful?
The sensation experienced during the procedure differs from patient to patient. Some experience no pain at all, and others can experience a bee-sting type sensation that can last for up to a couple of minutes. That sting is then likely to turn into a dull ache, which subsides within five minutes.
If the injection site is sore, then you can use an ice-pack during the first 6-12 hours after the procedure. Do not use for any longer than 10 minutes at a time.
We advise our patients to modify any strenuous sports and fitness activities for two weeks after each procedure to give the injected site a chance to repair, regenerate, and strengthen.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Every case is different. At your consultation, your practitioner will create a customised treatment program based on your injury and goals.
The average number of prolotherapy treatments required ranges between three and six.
There are many factors that can influence the number of treatments that a person needs. These factors include age, muscle health, and body alignment.
